Enhancement of IPOPNG Capacity
This program involves human resource development, improvement in laws and policies, improvement in systems and procedures for granting of IP rights, and the establishment of IPOPNG as an independent, fully fledged IP office. All these measures are aimed at enhancing capacity of the office so that it can be able to carry out its functions as expected and play a meaningful role in PNG's development.

Development of National IP Policy
Intellectual Property is a huge field and the IP Offices alone cannot be able to address all IPR related issues. There are cross-cutting issues in IPR administration and it requires stakeholder participation, especially by relevant government bodies and IP right owner groups. To be able to do that, there needs a policy direction and commitment by the National Government. PNG currently does not have a national policy on IPR. IPOPNG has therefore taken the initiative to develop a national policy that will provide the road map and direction for IP development in the country.
